FASTING & PRAYERS_Day No. 14 (15th January 2012) – 16 DAYS TO GO _ WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!

Read: Genesis 13: 14-17.

As we continue to pray for our work – business, trade, career or academics this week, I want to talk to us today about vision. You will remember that at the beginning of this period of waiting I encouraged us all to set goals for the year and the future?

Vision is the ability to see the future in your mind’s eye; to set the agenda that you are to grow into, which will give you a sure foot-hold for the next phase of your life. A visionless life is life devoid of meaning, a retail existence; only able to understand today, the present. Such lives are a demonstration of anxiety, of fear of what tomorrow holds. Such lives often end up far below par – they fulfil nothing of their potential; or when they strive, they fall way short of their capabilities. We can see this clearly in the unprofitable servant in the parable of the talents in Matthew 25: 14-30.

So, if a man is not conscious of vision, it can make his life directionless. Such a soul would just wander about and stroll through life. That is why the Bible is so emphatic that without vision people perish. Proverbs 29: 18. A typical example is found in the tragicomedy of the Israelites in the wilderness. God painted a picture of Canaan as a land where their future is already secured; but their slavery dominated consciousness could not fathom it. I pray today, every spirit of limitation on your mind would be broken asunder by the power of the Spirit of the living God IJMN.

Prayer is one of the ways you can build up your capacity to envision your future. That is why there is the need to pray that God should remove limitations from our hearts and minds because there are certain things that make it difficult for us to have vision. (Prayer #3 for this week).

My friends, vision empowers the future, and ability to see your future opens up possibilities for you in every area of your life. Vision is the basic raw material you need to improve your situation. We can see that in the life of Abram that what he was able to envision on the plains of Canaan fired up not only Abram but his future generations who stood with the picture of what Jehovah had promised! As you receive capacity to dream big dreams and capacity to bring them forth, remember, you are created to excel and excel you shall IJMN.

God bless you. We love you!!!
